Bible 101: Introduction to the Entire Bible
"Bible 101: Introduction to the Entire Bible" is the title of this material. We choose this more affirmative name over a couple of somewhat pejorative options others had selected like "The Bible for Dummies" or "The Complete Idiot’s Guide to the Bible".
The goal is to overcome the fear and uneasiness some feel when challenged by a book which not only claims divine origin but which also often has over 1000 pages and contains individual books with unfamiliar and difficult to pronounce names.
We call this an "Introduction" both because it is just basic information and also because we hope that having been "introduced" to it’s marvelous contents, the readers will increasingly actually open their Bibles and read them and continue to read them.
The material helps tell the story of the Bible. It’s the story of God’s constant reaching out to all creation with the hope of redeeming it for God’s ultimate purpose of joy and praise.
We are pleased to offer you these lessons with a three-fold prayer. Our prayer is that readers will gain new insights, will appreciate the Bible more deeply, and will be spiritually strengthened more mightily through a study of God’s great revelation in this word and the Word.
