The Sacrament of Marriage at Calvary

Calvary Lutheran Church is a wonderful setting to celebrate the joyous union of two lives. All persons who desire to be married at Calvary, without exception, are required to prepare for marriage through pre-marital counseling usually with our Senior Pastor. The purposes of this counseling are to thoroughly discuss the covenant of Christian marriage, inquire into the health of the relationship, explore aspects related to the couple’s faith and expectations of marriage, and to assist the couple in preparing for a life together.

Calvary Lutheran Church is committed to fostering relationships that lead to healthy marriages.  Couples preparing for marriage are reminded that this community of faith is much more interested in supporting strong marriage relationships. With this in mind, the wedding is primarily understood to be a worship service offering thanks and praise to God.  Furthermore, it constitutes a public affirmation of the couple’s love and faithfulness.  This worship service is conducted in a spirit of joy and thanksgiving, invoking the presence and blessing of God.
