Appendix G Website Guidelines

Content and Use
In order to provide a friendly, informative, welcoming and accurate introduction to persons who are looking for information about Calvary Lutheran Church of Del Mar, the following guidelines have been adopted and are to be followed without exception.

Intent
The purpose of the "public facing" website is to present a content rich and easily navigated verbal and visual display of who we are and what we have to offer. It is expected that this website will be visited by a wide range of newcomers to our area living in the communities generally within a 30 mile radius.

Scope
Because specific church activities change with the season as well as over time as new programs are created and others displaced, the website content will not be activity or schedule dependent. The general activities will be highlighted more in terms of their intent or interest area along the basic lines of our existing Ministries

Access
The business of our church Ministries will be conducted within the MemberConnect or private facing website

Web pages or files (.pdf recommended) that are within the private website and are regularly and continuously maintained, such as calendars or schedules, that qualify as "of interest" can be accessed via a link if their only available command is a safe return, exit or back

Maintenance
The website structure and content will be the responsibility of the Evangelism Ministry, until such time as a Communications Ministry is formed, but will be subjected to at least an annual review and on going approval of the Council. The cost of maintaining and hosting will be budgeted by the responsible Ministry.

Features
The website will have the ability to easily post promotional event content that appeals to the general public. This content will be inserted and removed from the Events page.

The website will have the ability to accept payments via Credit Cards for a variety of reasons as approved by the Council and supported by valid depository information and in conformance with all Council defined policies and formats.
