Music in Worship
Calvary’s traditional choir is a non-auditioned choral ensemble that meets on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:45 pm (September-June). The choir is made up of singers of all backgrounds and experience levels, from little experience to years of singing. Members explore a variety of musical styles in worship, learn and develop vocal technique and ensemble skills, and experience the joy of serving in the Lord’s ministry as they provide music to enhance the worship experience. CLC Ensemble is a contemporary ensemble that provides musical support for worship services, performing contemporary worship music in styles such as popular, country, or gospel. Members play guitar, percussion, bass, piano, vocals and additional instruments such as harmonica, saxophone or flute. For more information contact the Director of Music or Pastor Hand.
Kids for Christ
Kids for Christ is a newly-formed choir for elementary children. KFC rehearses with the Sunday School during the opening warm-up, and has special rehearsals Sundays from 9-9:30 preceding a presentation. The choir presents at the 10:30 worship service generally monthly from September-June. The objectives of Kids for Christ include:
- Sharing the Good News of Christ through singing
- Learning scripture and Bible stories through song
- Instilling a love of worship through active participation in the worship process
- Developing one's singing voice along with an appreciation of music
- Cultivating fellowship with peers to strengthen each other in their Faith Journey.
