Many thanks and blessings to all of you at Calvary Lutheran Church. My internship experience was amazing. But nothing could have prepared me for the love, gratitude, and generosity you shared on Sunday at my farewell luncheon. Your words, the gifts, the music, the preparation, the food, the hugs, and the tears were above anything we expected. Thank you seems inadequate. You will all hold a special place in my heart. You are in my prayers, as I know you are holding us in prayer as well.
Thank you to the high school and middle school youth for the Bath and Body Works items, as well as the certificates for Starbucks and Massage Envy.
Thank you to the congregation for your gifts of the awesome Communion kit and my green stole. I’m ready to use both. Special thanks to Patti Honda-Nations for her sneaky behind the scenes weaving, including even my husband, Jay.
If I start to name names, I’m afraid I will leave someone out who helped in the luncheon in any way; you know who you are, so many thanks. The food was great, especially the gluten-free lemon bars, the flowers were beautiful, and I know how much it takes to set up, serve, and clean-up. Special thanks to the Kieschnicks for preparing and leading the program.
A special shout out to Pastor Larry Hand. His personal gifts were funny, thoughtful, and all meaningful.
Thanks to staff; Amanda, Natalie, Teresa, Janine, Craig, Hector, and Omar for all they did to make everything happen on Sunday and all they did to make my internship go smoothly.
I received many other special greetings, cards, and gifts as well. Thank you everyone. Thank you all again for your welcome, acceptance, affirmation, love, grace, and our shared vulnerabilities. Words can not express my gratitude and appreciation for this time as your Vicar. And if time and obligations allow, I might be with you for a third Vacation Bible School!
When a church calls me, my ordination will be planned and will happen at Calvary. You all have an open invitation. And for those interested, I have some great red shoes for that celebration!
Peace be with you, full and free, for now and to eternity.
